Generally I would say yes, go automatically. They give much more control and security on rough roads and drop-ins. With platforms, is easy to get back into the ..... Pedals and when the ground hard enough to really back on its feet, you do not want to ride with your butt and your hands only as a single point of control of the bicycle. Even if you drive a little aggressive and wants to address the most difficult areas to be reduced for your horse.
However ..... If you are a beginner or prefer to go slowly, and if your tracks are very technical, very rocky or very rooty areas (especially on hills or stream crossing), you can stick with the flat platforms for some time until we have the experience of riding have. You can be sure that you are arrested, other obstacles, but in this case could be a little safer for you. If you have some miles under his belt and abilities, and then many others which I recommend clipless ..... simply takes time to get them on the road easier, or a lawn clipper usedng in and out of them is an unconscious act (is it can be connected very quickly).
I am personally connected to clipless. I could not bear to "separate" the whole time riding my bike with platform pedals.
When I connect my foot, I release. Once you get used to clipless pedals, it is not difficult to use that platform pedals, but in reality, and give you better control. JM is a wimp.
Ride what you want, man.
automatic
I like the Crank Brothers Candy C pedals, big enough to ride without any defects in, and very quickly from them if you wish.
I have special shoes, and the combination of great works!
Unless you are the best mountain bike would never say to keep from clipless. They are great for distance riding and Sprint - but on a bumpy road, which will have to set up quickly and without much warning - very difficult to do with the clip. Get some good toe cages for their platform petals can - easier if it really counts, and there are still some benefits from electricity pylons.
Her legs, shoulders and face will thank you!
Edit - I think some people do it! I did not coordinate though,! LOL - Good luck!
Absolutely. Once you get the idea they are better used for transportation on land and on the street. They do not slip on the pedals, you can really steep hill.
I have it for road and mountain bike long and short both.
EDIT: BTW 95% of the cyclists I've ever seen (much) to use machines. 100% at the races. Footrests are much less reliable and slower to get the distance.
I hate cycling without SPD. Platforms suck!
The cages are dead and clips of Technology - Who is she?
My advice: Splash the cash, a good kick in the pedals - Profiles - Shoes - Shimano impression that nothing works very well. (invented Dynamics Shimano SPD pedal - no other comes close)
Avoid factory pedals at low prices that come with new bikes (most do, these days-Shimano) and do not mix and match their shoes and pedals tacos. My experience with Nike shoes SPD was bad - it was wonderful and they were super comfy, but he broke a radius of 500 km or more!
In agreement with the pedals, so you think you can cut and get out quickly and without thinking. How do you trust - again adjusted so that the pedals are close and stop bar is more rigid. Learning to ride a freighter with SPD more than any other system.
Once your confidence, you will never see again.
